Ways to Get Behind Your Molars and Keep Them Really Clean
Your molars or back teeth can collect food more easily than the other parts of the mouth. Therefore, you need to know the techniques you should use for keeping them extra clean. You should also use these same steps to clean your other teeth. Because the molars are harder to reach, you need to make sure you brush your teeth in segments. Doing so will help you cover all the parts of the mouth. The following information will clue you in on the proper way to brush.

Keeping Your Molars and All Your Teeth Clean

When you brush your teeth, use a soft-bristle brush, as a firm or medium brush can scratch your gums. A soft bristle is also more flexible to use. Begin by brushing your teeth on each side. Always use a toothpaste containing fluoride. You should always use circular motions and strokes that are short and go back and forth. Always brush carefully along the gum line. Follow up by lightly brushing the tongue. Use floss to get rid of interdental plaque, or leftover food in the molars, that a toothbrush cannot reach.

How to Brush Your Molars if You Have Mobility Difficulties

To keep the teeth and molars extra clean, you may need to use a battery-operated or electric toothbrush if you have a condition, such as arthritis. To make things easier, slide a tube made of foam over the toothbrush's handle. It also helps to buy a toothbrush with a bigger handle. Affix the toothbrush to your hand with a broad elastic band.
As you can see, you can keep your molars extra clean when you use a soft-bristled toothbrush and extra care. If you have a condition, such as arthritis, you can still keep your back teeth clean. You just need to find an electric toothbrush to assist you in your oral care. If you would like to get your teeth checked, we can set up an appointment for you. Contact us today with any inquiries.
